    A heck of a lot of research has already been done on this especially in the UK and Italy. I fully applaud this initiative, as a long time victim of mesothelioma, but hope they don't reinvent the wheel. It has been proven beyond doubt that asbestos fibres are lethal within the human body. This money would be best spent making sure asbestos is banned totally in the US and convincing every Health and Safety Exec just how serious they should take its removal as well as educating everyone of the dangers. You should perhaps also initiate a study of asbestos related disease in New York post 9/11 if it hasn't been done already. The World Trade Centre buildings were full of asbestos and the disaster covered NY with asbestos dust. I believe it was noticed in 2011 that the number of asbestos related diseased victims in NY had already started to rise.
