My parents had a high LDL and did not die of any heart issues.
New science about blood markers are probably better indicators of CVD risk. Cholesterol is important for our fatty brain, so why lower LDL. Probably we have increasing alzheimer population.
Population with FH elevated LDL survives older than people LDL<70.
Pfizer discover the LDL pill few decades ago and surrounded science withe current dogma that cholesterol is bad for you  not sure if CVD mortality has been reduced with statin.
For example, new treatment to reduce tg shows tremedous CVD benefits. We all agree that TG is bad for you and the trials show Higher CVD benefits than statins. Maybe we should listen to new science.
The same discussion needs to happens in nutrition.
