    What is ATHEROMATOUS AORTA?

    My dad is 57 years old and he experienced abrupt weight loss this year. He is a chain smoker for 30 years and alcoholic drinker also. I advised him to visit the doctor to further evaluate his health condition.

    Our concern is to evaluate his lung condition, but when we brought him to the Out Patient Department, His BP was high like 200/170 and he was given sublingual Medicine and requested for other lab test.

    After one week, Blood test results are high including cholesterol level (LDL) and Uric acid.
    He was given medicine for that and also for BP.

    and after one month the ECG result was normal but the CHEST XRAY
    IMPRESSION: TOP NORMAL CARDIAC SIZE, ATHEROMATOUS AORTA.


    Does my father have a heart disease? is that the cause of his weight loss?
