    I'm very curious as to the science behind why the beau line on my big toe grows out (and eventually gets clipped off with nail clippers) and then in the next cycle of nail growth there is always another beau line. Why is there normal growth in between? If there is damage to the matrix, why does the majority of the nail grow normally? I am just a curious person and am having a hard time finding an answer anywhere.
