How quickly can telomere take place?  I relapsed after having a stem cell transplant (MDS) at about Day +210.  My relapse came after being on 160mg/day prednisone for almost two months to treat a lung fungal infection.  My glucose levels were very high (500-600) as a result of the prednisone.  I know there seems to be a correlation with diabetes and telomere length.  Could the short telomeres happen that quickly to induce a relapse?  I relapsed with AML and +Philadelphia chromosome, which I did not have prior to transplant.
