Or honestly, bright lights and sounds grab their attention just like you hear of children having too much tablet time. It's interactive and doesn't necessarily mean someone is or isn't something. If a child has a barrier in language, hearing, etc, this could also make them adapt to other means of interaction. Finally, they begin to show their personality and preferences or could even be misdiagnosed. I say this because there still are many things that can contribute to autism and very well could be multiple conditions just lumped together because they look similar. All of these can skew "studies."
