    Butting a needle anywhere in the body will cause several bioelectric effects associated with acupuncture, not to mention the autonomic effects. You would be better served not to do anything to the control group. Of course you have to pick the right points for the person and condition for the best results. Personally I have found a combination of acupuncture and Frequency Specific Microcurrent |(FSM) works best since they work differently.
