I am in charge of purchasing health insurance for our Optometry office. I also bill Insurance companies, including medicare and I see the reimbursement rates.

Two years ago our Health Insurance premium went up $100 per person. We had to reduce benefits to continue insurance. Last year we laid off two employees, and this year we can no longer offer health insurance, it is just too expensive 875-1000 for a family.

If you want things to continue as usual I guess you Doctors will be happy with fewer patients, more people waiting until health problems become emergencies and ultimately a much bigger problem.

The insurance companies have all the power right now, telling Doctors  procedure, drugs, and fees. The insurance companies also tell the Doctors how much they can charge a cash patient, how controlling is that?

By not choosing reform we keep the money and power with the insurance companies.
