Hi, I was diagnosed in 1996 with Pseudotumor Cerebri and have had eye surgery (in which I lost vision in my right eye and some in the left) and then to have a lumbarperitoneal shunt placed a month later.  It has been revised twice and the last time in 2003.  I've been doing well, however, I wish I could have my vision back.  They say it's permanent because of the damage to the optic nerve (nerves don't heal so I've been living like this ever since.  I continued to work at my job until 2003 when I decided to go out on disability.  I never ever thought this would happen to me and wished it didn't.  If you are experiencing any of the symptoms, please please go get it checked because the longer you wait the worse it gets.  Back in 1996 I kept complaining to my primary doctor and she kept sending me to every doctor except an opthamologist who finally diagnosed me, however, after the surgery I went blind anyway. So, don't take it for granted!!! Insurance or no insurance.....GET CHECKED BY AN OPTHAMALOGIST!!!!

    Best Wishes,
    Lydia
