Health care cost has continued to skyrocket since early 1970’s, and has been worsening for the last two decades. We should have reformed it much sooner. However, we must not reform the health care system without first carefully analyzing the roots of its problems. Autonomous Care is a combination of the non-profit regional insurance pool and health savings accounts. The insurance pool is organized by individuals with the participation of employers to offer individuals catastrophic insurance policy to pair with the individual’s health saving account (HSA.) Individual can decide the need of his care and first pay for with his own HAS. This will give him the financial incentive for making sensible decision as to the quality of care. The pool will kick in when the individual’s care costs more after deductibles.
