    Biomarker research has failed to find either a diagnostic or prognostic biomarker for any painful condition. This type of research may serve the curiosity of researchers but it has failed to serve the public good. It is insanity to keep doing the same thing and expect different results-and the insanity of biomarker research continues despite its great cost and failure to help people in pain.
