1. L. Peterson L. Peterson United States says:

I've been a nurse for over 30 years. Chronic back problems are an occupational hazard. I've been dealing with it for more than 20 years. Have had back injections, physical therapy, chiropractic care -considered surgery. Started YOGA in March of 2008 - I highly encourage anyone with back problems to try YOGA! I go twice weekly. Alert instructor to your condition, listen to your body's response to the poses. Ask your doctor or physical therapist about what poses to avoid. And to the nurses out there - it is NOT worth your back's health to move a patient without the proper equipment or help of others! Follow your "no-lift" policies!
