    I find the data to be incomplete.  While social skills are often learned from parents, this article raises a few questions for me.  Did the biological father remain in the home with the children or was their a step-father/boyfriend involved in their upbringing?  Was the economic status of the families equal despite the age differences as this could lead to  a difference in the quality/quantity of social opportunities.
