    I know first hand the devastation meningitis can cause to a child. 2 days after my daughters 1st birthday she was in PICU fighting  for her life after contracting strep b pneumococcal. She spent 21 days there, had a stroke and continuously seized. She is almost 9 with the mind of about a 2 or 3 year old. She spends most of her time in and out of dr. and hospitals. She has had 2 VNS implants and tried every anti-seizure med on and off the market. We finally had to do brain surgery to try to control her seizures. She is doing much better but still struggles. Here are her stories from the news, the hospital, and the local paper.
