    I was not aware of its low toxicity reputation in China, I've only heard of its role in new discoveries on herbal medicine including the groundbreaking one leading to the cure for malaria (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3017680/), which led to a Nobel Prize.
    But yes, the mislabeling & substandard regulation of some herbal remedies remain a cause for concern.
