Blood gas testing can be easily impacted by pre-analytic factors – including sample collection, environmental exposure, and proper sample mixing. This webinar will review how pre-analytic errors can be recognized and mitigated to avoid the age old “garbage in, garbage out” scenario – minimizing recollection and retesting while maximizing point of care blood gas testing efficiency.

Who Should Attend?

Physicians, Nurses, Point of Care coordinators, Respiratory therapists, Laboratory technicians/technologists

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the ideal collection methods for blood gas testing
  • Identify the challenges of collection and pre-analytic sample handling
  • Describe the impact of pre-analytic challenges on Point of Care (POCT) blood gas testing
