Webinar: Soluble IL-2R/SCD25 Underappreciated inflammatory marker

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a key signalling molecule in the human immune system. IL-2 mediates its effects by binding to IL-2 receptors, which are expressed by lymphocytes. On T-cell activation, the soluble form of the interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R) is secreted, or “shed”, meaning that elevated concentrations of sIL-2R are found in patients suffering from any one of an extensive range of conditions that are associated with an ongoing immune response.

Watch this webinar to learn about the importance of measuring the soluble Interleukin-2-Receptor (sIL-2R) in patients suspected or diagnosed with a form of interstitial lung disease called sarcoidosis.

In this webinar you will learn first about the biology of the sIL-2R and its importance for T-cell functions. Secondly, you will learn about the use of the sIL-2R as a biomarker in the clinical laboratory.  Furthermore, you will have an overview in which type of diseases these functions do play a role, with later going into the specific use of the biomarker in interstitial lung diseases, mainly sarcoidosis and why it is necessary to have a reliable and reproducible assay.
