Introduction

Traditionally, historians, genealogists, and adoptees have utilized genealogy to build family trees and locate birth families. Forensic genetic genealogy (FGG), which is also known as investigative genetic genealogy (IGG), combines DNA analysis with genealogy to generate investigative leads in instances of unsolved crimes or unidentified remains.
