Induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) cytokines

Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are a hopeful alternative for analyzing antigen expression in vitro and developing novel cellular therapies. iPSCs have been derived from differentiated adult somatic cells that are reprogrammed into an embryonic-like pluripotent state by making use of various transcription factors. They are capable of distinguishing into any kind of cell lineage.

With their limitless capacity for self-renewal and differentiation, such iPSCs hold enormous abilities in regenerative medicine, drug testing, disease modeling, and innovative cell or gene therapies.

The extensive selection of cytokines and growth factors, such as GM-CSF, DLL4, Activin A, NOG, VEGF, TNF-α, IL-2, FGF, IL1β, and EGF, are necessary components for distinguishing human iPSCs into several cell lineages. The applications of cytokines in iPSC studies are displayed in Table 1.
