FDA approves Clinolipid injectable emulsion for intravenous feeding in adult patients

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Clinolipid (lipid injectable emulsion, USP) for intravenous feeding (parenteral nutrition) in adult patients, providing a source of calories and essential fatty acids for adult patients who are unable to eat or drink. Clinolipid was granted a priority review to help alleviate a drug shortage.

These new findings were included in research published in the journal of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention - a publication of the American Association for Cancer Research.

Study: Physical activity reduces risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women

A large new American Cancer Society study adds to increasing evidence that physical activity reduces the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Researchers say moderate recreational activity was associated with a 14 percent lower risk and high physical activity with a 25 percent lower risk of breast cancer compared to women who were active at the lowest level.

The Fogarty International Center's HIV Research Training Program is issuing 22 awards, which are intended to strengthen the ability of the grantee institutions to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic, while building expertise in a particular scientific or critical research infrastructure area.
