The Stat Profile Prime is a faster, smaller, more robust yet simpler and less expensive analyzer. It integrates the ground-breaking microelectronics of the consumer world with Nova Biomedical’s novel MicroSensor Card™ technology.
Maintenance-free cartridge system
The unique cartridge system of the Stat Profile Prime analyzer includes individual cartridges for calibrators, sensors and liquid quality control (QC).
Maximum analyzer uptime
When compared to integrated sensor/calibrator cartridge systems, individual cartridges provide a significant advantage in analyzer uptime.
Cartridge replacement in seconds
Every cartridge can be readily used and effortlessly replaced in seconds. The cartridge RFID technology automatically records the installation date, time, test parameters, lot number and usage of cartridges.
When compared to combined cartridge systems that involve 2-to-4-hour wait times, there is a considerable saving in analyzer uptime when substituting only a calibrator cartridge, which further eliminates the warm-up time.
Individual cartridges lower costs
Each cartridge provides a low-cost alternative when compared to the waste and inflexibility of integrated cartridge systems. For instance, an analyzer employed in a high-volume setting will need fewer sensor cartridges than calibrators, but a low-volume setting will need the exact opposite.
In either case, the costs are reduced by using the individual sensor and calibrator cartridges of the Stat Profile Prime analyzer. These cartridges eliminate waste when compared to combined cartridge systems.
MicroSensor card technology
Accuracy
All Stat Profile Prime tests employ the established Nova biosensor technology in a compact, sensor card format.
Constant stat readiness
Flexible configurations are included in the MicroSensor cards:
The MicroSensor cards are calibrated automatically and are invariably ready for direct analysis.
Clot protection
The special Clot Block™ sample flow path has been developed to protect sensor cartridges against blood clot blockages.

Fastest replacement time
The MicroSensor cards can be warmed, replaced and calibrated within half the time of other cartridge systems, which normally take over 1 hour to calibrate and continue to remain unstable with frequent re-calibrations, drift and reduced throughput for even longer periods.
Automated, true liquid QC
True liquid QC offers the only reliable test of an analyzer
In the United States, federal government regulations (CLIA) are phasing out electronic QC and demanding true, liquid-based QC. The Stat Profile Prime analyzer integrates both automated, true liquid QC and constant electronic self-monitoring to assure laboratory precision and uncompromised quality.
Tri-level QC cartridges automate daily QC
The QC cartridges include a 30-day supply of liquid QC material. Controls are automatically run at user-defined intervals. A QC lockout feature, which is optional, disables any analyte that does not fall within QC limits.

CLIA QC compliant out of the box
The automated QC system of the Stat Profile Prime analyzer conforms to all the latest CLIA requirements.1 The liquid quality controls track the same sample pathway as the blood specimen and validate the whole analytical process for each analyte at multiple concentration levels. QC statistics are automatically maintained.
Complete automation
One of the most time-consuming aspects of critical care testing is running the QC manually. The automated, true liquid QC of Stat Profile Prime analyzer saves hours every week. It prevents the need to design, apply and document a risk-based, lengthy quality assessment and individualized QC plan.
Supplemental quality monitoring
The Stat Profile Prime analyzer offers an alternative to liquid QC by constantly monitoring the performance and status of all analytical components, such as reagents, sensors, sample integrity, calibrations, electronics and software, offering a real-time, sample-to-sample guarantee of correct performance.
10 critical care tests — results in 60 seconds
- pH, PO2, PCO2, Na, Cl, K, iCa, Glu, Lac and Hct
- Venous, arterial or capillary micro-samples: 100 µl for full menu
- Fast throughput: Up to 45 specimens/hour
Bidirectional connectivity
The bidirectional software in the Stat Profile Prime analyzer uploads patient and QC results to laboratory and hospital information systems using ASTM or POCT1-A2 formats.
The bidirectional interface also enables downloading of patient identifiers, test orders and patient demographics from the HIS or LIS to the Stat Profile Prime analyzer.
The software seamlessly captures precise and complete test records for the medical record. Comprehensive cybersecurity protection and encryption are also included to protect PHI and offer an extra level of protection against attempts to access a hospital's network.

Easy sampling from syringes, capillaries, tubes and ampoules
Thanks to a unique safety sample port, the user is protected from making accidental contact with the sample probe. This sample port can be easily accessed for all sample containers.
Easy-to-use, high-definition, color touchscreen
The touchscreen can be easily operated by using simple, intuitive prompts and needs only minimal training.
Three simple steps to start a full 10-test profile
- Press “Start”
- Scan or enter the patient ID
- Press “Aspirate”
Integrated barcode scanner
The 1D/2D barcode scanner, conveniently located inside the sample port, enables rapid, error-free entry of patient and operator IDs. The optional, wireless, external barcode scanner also allows for positive patient ID, further eliminating pre-analytical error.
Compact, point-of-care size
The microelectronics and cartridge system of the Stat Profile Prime results in one of the lightest and smallest critical care analyzers. The analyzer is so compact that it can be located almost anywhere in the hospital or can be used on a mobile cart with a battery backup.
