The compact UV5Bio desktop UV/Vis spectrophotometer is ideal for laboratories that analyze biological materials or conduct temperature research. Its versatile attachments and modest footprint make it an ideal choice for any busy lab.
Features
Ready-to-use bio-applications
Pre-programmed applications for nucleic acids (DNA, RNA, mRNA, oligos, and so on) with QC ratios (260/280 and 260/230), protein assays, and cell density.
Temperature control
Use CuveT to raise the samples’ temperature. To broaden the applications, measure kinetics, lipase activity, protein denaturation, and melting point.
Stand-alone and software operation
The device can be operated with or without the LabX UV/VIS PC software, leaving a small footprint on the bench.
Direct measurement and methods
Direct measurements of nucleic acids (e.g., dsDNA, RNA), protein assays (Bradford, Lowry, etc.), protein concentration (direct A280), and cell density (OD600) produce quick data. Individual approaches provide for greater control over settings, resulting in more precise outcomes.
Fixed wavelength, scan, and quant
Measure transmittance or absorbance throughout a fixed, single, multiple, or complete wavelength range, or utilize quantification to determine the concentration of an absorbing material. The spectrum’s peaks and dips show the sample’s composition and purity.
Kinetic measurements
Kinetics measurements use absorbance at a given wavelength to track changes in reactant or product concentrations over time. The gadget automatically calculates reaction rates.
Oligo calculator
Entering the nucleotide sequence into the integrated oligo calculator allows users to easily compute the particular extinction coefficient.
Color measurement
Choose from 15 pre-programmed color values and formulas, including CIELAB, Gardner, APHA, and the Yellowness Index. These predetermined parameters offer consistent and reliable results for industry quality control and scientific study.
Efficient accessories and automation
Accessories such as a thermostat, pump, cuvette changer, or autosampler can help users streamline their measurements and easily adjust to new applications.
LabX™ UV/VIS software
All measurement data, including automatic plausibility checks, report production, and statistical analysis of the findings, are instantly accessible through the LabX™ UV/VIS software. The graphical method editor makes the process of developing methods simple.
