Prajakta Tambe, Ph.D. worked at Queen’s University Belfast on a project that focused on studying ‘Role of Tregs in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome'. Prajakta completed a Ph.D. in August 2020 at Agharkar Research Institute, University of Pune, India. Her work aimed to develop dendrimer-based nanoparticles for the targeted delivery of MCL-1 gene-specific siRNA to bring about apoptosis in breast and prostate cancer cells and in vivo breast cancer xenograft models.
Prajakta has hands-on-experience in molecular cloning/transformation, ELISA, Tregs isolation, flow cytometry, microbiology. Her Ph.D. work involved techniques like plasmid isolation, cloning, transfections, cell culture, SDS-western blotting/real-time PCR, animal handling, in vivo cancer model development. During her Ph.D., she had a chance to publish several research articles and reviews. This provided a plethora of knowledge on writing, writing styles, reference management software, editing to very minute details, and preparing scientific illustrations.
