Sonomax Hearing Healthcare completes Phase II trials of a delivery mechanism that inflates a V3 earplug successfully

Sonomax Hearing Healthcare Inc. (SHH:TSX Venture Exchange) is proud to announce that it has successfully passed its Phase II milestone, proof-of-performance of a delivery mechanism that inflates a V3 earplug as per fit function criteria.

"This is an accomplishment that cannot be overestimated", said Adam Schwartz, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Sonomax, "It is the missing piece of the puzzle that up until now has eluded us, no matter which way we approached it. I just can't say enough about the determination and competence of my technical team in achieving this all-important breakthrough."

Said Nick Laperle, Sonomax's President & Chief Executive Officer, "Passing this milestone is a substantive achievement because Sonomax utilized a completely mechanical system to fill an earpiece and was able to effectively demonstrate that it will be able eliminate outside human intervention in the fitting process. This means that, when fully commercialized, users will be able to easily customize their own earplugs themselves by simply seating them in their ears and pressing the "Magic Button". The IFS "Intelligent Fitting System" does the rest; it will dispense the perfect amount of silicone into the earpiece. Once fitted, the IFS simply is snapped off and the user is left with perfect fitting custom fitted earpieces ideal for earphones or Bluetooth(TM) devices."

On August 21 Sonomax announced by press release that the company had achieved scientific proof of the company's ability to develop a technology to produce an off-the-shelf, self-fitting, custom earpiece. The company reaffirms its pledge to announce success or failure of each of the remaining three milestones. The next milestone will be to have subjects who have not been coached, fit themselves using the IFS system without assistance. This milestone is scheduled for the end of September, 2009.
