Huron Consulting Group finds place in Modern Healthcare’s 2009 list

Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced its ranking in Modern Healthcare’s 2009 list of the largest healthcare management consulting firms. Huron was listed second out of 15 healthcare consulting firms, ranked according to total 2008 provider revenue.

“Huron’s presence in the healthcare consulting sector has grown significantly over the past few years demonstrating that both our innovative solutions and experienced personnel are highly valued in the marketplace, and we are pleased to see our efforts recognized,” said James H. Roth, chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group. “Huron provides significant value to our healthcare clients, and we look forward to continuing to partner with them as our nation’s healthcare landscape evolves.”

Modern Healthcare has listed Huron as one of the top five largest healthcare management consulting firms for the past three years. Huron’s total provider revenue grew to $245 million in 2008, bringing the Company up two spots from last year’s ranking. This year’s list includes both publicly traded and privately held firms.

Huron’s Health and Education Consulting segment represented more than 55 percent of the Company’s revenues in the second quarter of 2009. The Company helps healthcare and higher education institutions respond to increasing funding challenges and regulatory complexities. Huron’s healthcare business includes the Wellspring Partners and Stockamp practices that address performance improvement needs at health systems, hospitals and academic medical centers across the country.
