Perot Systems to develop plans for Regional Health Information Platform in China

Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) (www.perotsystems.com) announced today that it has signed a healthcare information technology agreement with the Changsha Municipal Government in the Hunan Province of China. The agreement calls for Perot Systems to develop a plan for a city-wide Regional Health Information Platform, and it includes coordination of planning for healthcare data centers and the creation of electronic health records (EHRs) for city residents.

"It is exciting to be part of the great vision and determination of the leaders of Changsha city to upgrade healthcare information technology services, with the goal of improving the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of care in the city. We applaud their approach to the country's increasing focus on healthcare," said Peter Altabef, the President and Chief Executive Officer for Perot Systems, who attended the agreement-signing ceremony. "Through our work with the Ministry of Health on national standard guidelines, the agreement between Changsha and Perot Systems can establish a blueprint that can guide and support the deployment of regional health IT platforms and digital hospitals in other provinces and cities throughout China."

Perot Systems is currently the leading international vendor that is recognized for providing technology solutions that meet China's national standards. In July 2009, Perot Systems announced an agreement with the Hunan Provincial Government through which the company intends to provide IT consulting services for healthcare organizations and public health initiatives throughout the province.
