Clinical Care Options to provide online continuing medical education in "The Oncology Portal"

Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in the development of innovative interactive online, print, and live medical education for healthcare professionals, today announced its exclusive collaboration with Oncology Today(TM), a wholly owned subsidiary of US Oncology, Inc., to be the provider of online continuing medical education (CME) for the newly formed US Oncology's online clinician community, "The Oncology Portal."

"US Oncology has been looking for creative technologies to assist our specialist community in accessing needed continuing education via the convenience of their practice desktop," said Roy A. Beveridge, MD, Medical Director and Executive Vice President, US Oncology. "We are excited to partner with CCO to offer their unique educational programming and their new, innovative point-of-care program to our membership to further support our mission of improving patient care."

US Oncology has developed a new and innovative platform called The Oncology Portal, which provides a centralized location for oncology clinicians to access community discussions, practice-based information and forms, and clinical information. CCO's comprehensive oncology content will be featured on the portal via a co-branded portal page for continuing medical education. In addition, US Oncology's affiliated clinicians will have direct access to CCO's latest innovation, CCO Oncology inPractice, a dynamic content and search engine that provides Point of Care CME and other database resources to busy practitioners.

"We are delighted to have been selected by Oncology Today(TM) for this opportunity to directly support US Oncology network clinicians in their quest to stay current and provide information at the point of care," said Jeffrey L. Drezner, MD, PhD, CEO of CCO. "We look forward to working closely with Oncology Today(TM) to develop even more innovative ways to make these programs available for use by US Oncology-affiliated practitioners at the point of care and within their new social networking technology."
