Resource Systems, developer of long-term care electronic documentation system CareTracker, and Extendicare Health Services, Inc., a leading provider of senior care with over 260 health centers across U.S. and Canada, announce Extendicare's commitment to introduce the new CareTracker Clinical Intelligence technology to 187 health centers. The Clinical Intelligence tool assists health centers in predicting and notifying caregivers of potential resident care issues before they become a problem.
CareTracker's Clinical Intelligence tool analyzes millions of data records collected by staff to help long-term care centers improve resident care. Alerts help staff identify immediate resident care concerns including residents who aren't drinking or eating sufficiently, having constipation issues, losing weight too fast, have consistently declining Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and more. It also helps to increase compliance by identifying how well staff is documenting data.
CareTracker by Resource Systems is an electronic documentation system that collects data using wall-mounted touch screens located throughout a long-term care facility -- making it easy for caregivers to document resident observations as they occur. It eliminates the undesirable effects of paper documentation systems by improving accuracy and quality of care, coordinating facility communications, reducing risk and increasing reimbursement.
"We anticipate that Clinical Intelligence will save clinicians valuable time and allow them to be more efficient; ultimately improving quality care for our residents," said Rick Gurka, Vice President of ProStep and Clinical Reimbursement. "Using defined parameters, or widgets, outlined by our clinical team, Clinical Intelligence will sort targeted information and identify residents that require immediate clinical attention, eliminating lengthy time spent running and analyzing reports."
"Resource Systems has been a wonderful partner in helping to enhance the quality of services provided in the long-term care industry. They truly understand the needs of their clients and create technology that not only enhances quality of care, but directly impacts the lives of our residents," stated Rick Gurka, Vice President of ProStep and Clinical Reimbursement.
