Intelligent InSites, Inc., the leading provider of real-time locating and sensing solutions, announced today that Saint Therese at Oxbow Lake (Saint Therese), a senior living community located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, has implemented the InSites Enterprise Visibility Platform™ as the resident care and staff response solution.
Saint Therese has selected the real-time locating solution, offered by Intelligent InSites, to support the goal of creating a welcoming, peaceful, and safe environment for its residents. The solution, which replaced an outdated and failing call system, was installed in the independent living, assisted living, and memory care units. Components of the system include location-sensing pendants, which are worn by residents and staff, and pagers utilized by caregiving personnel as notification and alerting devices.
"By simply pressing a button on their wearable pendant, our residents can now ask for assistance from anywhere on the campus," explains Dinah Martin, Campus Administrator at Saint Therese at Oxbow Lake. "Our staff can respond immediately to their request at their exact location, meaning there is no need for searching for a resident in distress. This shortens staff response time dramatically, reducing stress and risk to the resident and staff."
The InSites solution is also able to automatically record all staff encounters with residents, as well as logging resident activities, thereby providing a way for families and caregivers to verify the level of care and to ensure residents participate in scheduled events.
"When speaking with families, the immediate access to historical data is very beneficial in accurately conveying the quantity and quality of care being delivered," Martin explains. "This type of information is also very useful when discussing the changing care needs of a specific resident."
"It is very gratifying to know that our solution helps fulfill the mission of Saint Therese's community. By delivering a solution that provides real-time location information in a very meaningful way, we are able to help clients positively impact the safety and independence of their residents and improve quality of their lives," commented Mark Rheault, President and CEO of Intelligent InSites.
