Reese Pharmaceutical chooses SYSPRO ERP for private labeling and distribution operations

SYSPRO, the leading provider of visionary, pragmatic ERP software, today announced that Reese Pharmaceutical Company has selected SYSPRO ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software to run its private labeling and distribution operations. Reese, based in Cleveland, Ohio, has been in business for more than a century. The private labeler of more than 80 different, high quality medications, including cough, cold and allergy medications, as well as topical creams, lotions, ointments and dietary supplements, selected SYSPRO software over Microsoft NAV based on price, ease of implementation, user interface and the expertise of the local SYSPRO Reseller. SYSPRO sells its software through a highly experienced Reseller Channel that has both localized logistical and industry specific knowledge, a major benefit for mid-market manufacturers and distributors when selecting and implementing a new ERP solution.

“While we felt both packages would meet our requirements, we opted for SYSPRO, feeling that the user interface would be a better fit and that the ‘out-of-the-box’ nature of the software would make it far easier to implement without the need for extensive outside IT support.”

According to Tony Lamonica, Controller, Reese had been utilizing a legacy accounting package which was no longer supported. “Since 2005, our sales volume has grown 2.5 times, and we needed a more robust solution to help with inventory management and control issues,” he says. After looking at a variety of software solutions, Lamonica explains the choice was narrowed to SYSPRO and Microsoft NAV. “While we felt both packages would meet our requirements, we opted for SYSPRO, feeling that the user interface would be a better fit and that the ‘out-of-the-box’ nature of the software would make it far easier to implement without the need for extensive outside IT support.”

Lamonica also indicates that the SYSPRO offering was more cost-competitive and that the sizes of both SYSPRO and the company’s local reseller were the best fits for an operation the size of Reese.

In addition to superior inventory control, Lamonica is looking to SYSPRO software to facilitate operational enhancements, cost controls, FDA compliance and provide management with superior insight into operations. In addition, he believes that SYSPRO lot traceability will be instrumental in helping Reese to maintain the highest levels of quality control.
