TIAA-CREF collaborates with NFLHE to promote development of Latino healthcare leaders

TIAA-CREF, America's largest private retirement system, today announced a relationship with the National Forum for Latino Healthcare Executives (NFLHE), a national nonprofit organization led by senior executive healthcare leaders in the U.S. that works with the healthcare system to meet the needs of diverse communities throughout the nation.

TIAA-CREF sponsored an NFLHE caucus breakfast on March 23 and a reception on March 24 in Chicago during the American College of Healthcare Executives Congress on Healthcare Leadership.  Both NFLHE events were designed for NFLHE members and potential members to share concerns and issues faced by Latino health care leaders in the U.S., including healthcare legislation, regulation and policy that affect the health and well-being of U.S. Latino communities. TIAA-CREF also sponsored a recent reception for NFLHE members in Austin, Texas, during the Texas Hospital Association Leadership Conference.

"TIAA-CREF is committed to serving the U.S. Hispanic/Latino community to and through retirement," said Romano Richetta, senior vice president of Participant Services, TIAA-CREF.  "We will continue enhancing our Spanish-language capabilities to increase access to tools and retirement planning information. This combined with our mix of investment choices, built-in retirement income options and, and personalized objective, non-commissioned advice can help build retirement security in the Latino community."

"We appreciate TIAA-CREF's support for NFLHE's efforts to promote the development and advancement of current and future Latino healthcare leaders," said Gabriel Perez, Medical Center Director, Phoenix VA Health Care Systems, in Phoenix, Arizona, who is chair of the board of directors of the NFLHE.  "Their contribution enables us to continue our work to improve healthcare for our communities and to collaborate with industry leaders to increase the representation of Latinos in the executive ranks of U.S. hospitals, health systems and healthcare."
