Nihon Kohden America, the fastest-growing patient monitoring company in the U.S., has just received the 2010 Outstanding Service Achievement award from Medical Strategic Planning (MSP), an independent market intelligence company that conducts an annual survey among hospitals to measure customer satisfaction of patient monitoring manufacturers.
“We're thrilled with the results of the survey because it reaffirms our approach to helping hospitals address their two most important challenges with pivotal technology—saving lives and reducing costs”
MSP conducted its national Reality™ monitoring survey of U.S. hospitals between June and October 2009 for the six largest patient monitoring vendors—Draeger, GE Healthcare, Nihon Kohden, Mindray/Datascope, Philips and Spacelabs. Key personnel at participating hospitals are asked to rate their patient monitoring vendors on a 10-point Likert scale across 23 categories including: reliability of equipment, timeliness of installations, overall ease, speed and cost of upgrades, user training, response time to service requests and quality of technical support.
With many of the highest scores in the survey, Nihon Kohden received Best Overall Contending Vendor and the overall highest scoring among all vendors, regardless of market share. In fact, Nihon Kohden outscored all vendors, regardless of market share, in 18 out of 23 categories.
This year marks the fifth consecutive year that Nihon Kohden received the highest performance ratings among all vendors, which led MSP to award Nihon Kohden with its first ever 5-Year Significant Achievement Award.
"We're thrilled with the results of the survey because it reaffirms our approach to helping hospitals address their two most important challenges with pivotal technology—saving lives and reducing costs," said Mike Dashefsky, vice president of Nihon Kohden America. "We're honored that MSP recognized Nihon Kohden with this award and we accept it on behalf of our customers."
"MSP decided to create this award because we were impressed by the unwavering performance of Nihon Kohden, which in five years of surveying hospital satisfaction, was the only company to consistently place first, often with the highest score of any vendor we track. That kind of concern for customer satisfaction is an outstanding reminder that clients do come first with Nihon Kohden. We are pleased to acknowledge to the entire industry what Nihon Kohden already knows," commented Arthur Gasch, Founder of Medical Strategic Planning, Inc.
