VA selects IRIS to provide communication system for notifying federal employees on H1N1 vaccinations

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has selected TechRadium's IRIS to provide a cloud-computing-based, interoperable communications system for notifying key federal employees of when H1N1 vaccinations are available for them.

“IRIS leverages VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) within a cloud-computing-based, SaaS (software as a service) model to provide scalable and sophisticated functionality that operates under high security and encryption standards to safeguard personal data.”

Using this system, VA is one of the first federal agencies to adopt cloud computing for meeting a presidential mandate that calls for seamless and efficient communications with other government agencies. The flexible design allows VA to quickly plan and deploy a program for instantly reaching thousands of employees in mission-critical roles throughout the country.

VA has contracted to use TechRadium's patented IRIS technology, a leading, cutting-edge mass notification solution, to enable and carry out the initiative. The innovative IRIS system combines notification with information sharing technologies to create one comprehensive solution.

"IRIS addresses the VA's need to notify thousands of federal employees at different agencies and then follow up with them after they've been vaccinated," said Ryan Rodkey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TechRadium. "IRIS leverages VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) within a cloud-computing-based, SaaS (software as a service) model to provide scalable and sophisticated functionality that operates under high security and encryption standards to safeguard personal data."

TechRadium looks forward to working extensively with the VA to provide innovative communications solutions, as well as supplying additional services for future initiatives.
