Bright Starts announces 2010 Pink Power Mom winners

In an ongoing effort to support breast cancer awareness, education and research, Bright Starts announces the winners of its fourth annual Pink Power Mom search. The winners are eight inspirational mothers who have survived (or are currently battling) breast cancer and have used their experience to make a profound difference in the lives of other women affected by the disease. These eight women are incredible role models whose unique stories influence and inspire our awareness and involvement with organizations dedicated to finding a cure.

“These brave women are making it possible for today's baby girls to have a bright and healthy future.”

"We are honored to celebrate the lives of these extraordinary women who have overcome breast cancer," said Ryan Gunnigle, President and CEO of Kids II, designer and manufacturer of the Bright Starts brand. "These brave women are making it possible for today's baby girls to have a bright and healthy future."

Cindi Hart: 2010 Pink Power Mom Winner

In 2004, as a nationally ranked speed skater and bicycle racer, Cindi was one of the healthiest people she knew and focused on her then 9 year-old daughter and her husband. With no risk factors, she was shocked to find 2 cancerous lumps in her breast. Cindi wanted to fight cancer on her own terms, she continued to train athletes, coach and race her way through chemotherapy treatments. Despite a shocking cancer reoccurrence on her 4 year original cancer diagnosis anniversary, Cindi was determined to live her life to the fullest and even coached 3 USA Special Olympics teams to world games during her treatment and recovery. The empowerment and unity she felt with team training, led her to create "Spokes of Hope," a way for breast cancer patients and survivors to bond and promote healing through cycling. Cindi is now a proud breast cancer survivor and advocate serving as spokesperson or honorary chairperson on various breast cancer organizations, including the Young Survivors Coalition "Tour de Pink."

Each of the Pink Power Moms will be honored with a prize package including: a $5,000 donation to the charity of her choice; a weekend of pampering with all eight of the Pink Power Mom Winners; a gift bag valued at $700 containing products that all donate a portion of their proceeds to breast cancer related charities. The women will also be featured in a national print advertisement, and their stories will be profiled online at www.pinkpowermom.com.
