Lippincott Williams & Wilkins to publish journal Pathology

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, announced today that it has signed an agreement to serve as exclusive publisher of Pathology effective January 1, 2011. The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), which produces Pathology, is responsible for the training and professional development of pathologists and for the promotion of the science and practice of pathology.

Pathology focuses on peer-reviewed, original articles related to the science of pathology in its broadest sense, including anatomical pathology, chemical pathology and biochemistry, cytopathology, experimental pathology, forensic pathology and morbid anatomy, genetics, haematology, immunology and immunopathology, microbiology, and molecular pathology.

"We are very pleased to be selected as the publisher of Pathology by the RCPA and to help them innovate their content strategy in print and online," said Karen Abramson, President & CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research. "The journal offers a broad perspective on key areas of pathology, providing important peer-reviewed content in a core medical discipline."

"The RCPA chose to partner exclusively with LWW because of its commitment to providing access to research and information around the subject of pathology," said Associate Professor Paul McKenzie, President of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. "Expanding our readership is core to our partnership, and we're excited about the opportunities to create added value to our published content through new online channels."

One of the new access channels for Pathology will be its inclusion in LWW's recently launched Pathology Network (www.pathnetwork.com), a single source solution that provides pathologists quick access to all the current articles from the complete line of LWW published pathology journals. In addition, Pathology will be available for institutional access exclusively through OvidSP, the global medical research platform of Ovid, LWW's sister company within Wolters Kluwer Health.
