MediConnect CEO to discuss on risk adjustment health services at HCC conference

MediConnect Global today announced that Amy Rees Anderson, the company's CEO, is among a renowned group of healthcare professionals speaking at the 5th annual HCC Management Summit in Nashville, Tennessee. The two-day event, which begins today, will focus on the changing role of risk adjustment in relation to federally mandated healthcare reform, including the new Five-Star Quality Rating System.

"The landscape of risk adjustment is shifting, and health plans are going to need to evolve their practices in order to comply with this transition," said Anderson. "I am thrilled to be a part of the HCC Management Summit this year. MediConnect has been studying these new demands carefully and vigilantly, and I look forward to sharing what we have discovered with the risk adjustment professionals attending the conference."

Anderson will speak on transparency in the record retrieval process, the benefits to digitizing records and the importance of successfully engaging with healthcare providers. MediConnect is the world's leading provider of authorized medical record retrieval and management services, and recently announced a series of new cloud-based risk adjustment services as part of RapidReview, the company's proprietary online workflow system providing users complete process transparency.

"This conference not only gives me the opportunity to share some of the tactics and practices we've found useful, but it also gives me the chance to learn more about the challenges facing risk adjustment professionals," added Anderson. "It's going to be a collaborative effort to ensure that the new requirements are met in a way that complements the long-term goals of the health plan providers. Meeting with some of the industry's heavy-hitters at the conference and hearing what obstacles they feel they are facing will help MediConnect as we continue developing and providing the most comprehensive and effective methods in risk adjustment services."

For the first time the conference has teamed up with the Risk Adjustment Initiative & Society for Education (RISE), the first national association for risk adjustment professionals. This partnership presents an opportunity to bring together multiple perspectives and will facilitate highly interactive discussions on the transformation of the industry. Attendees will hear from some of the industry's most respected experts on a wide-array of topics.
