CLC bio, AROS partner to provide 'Total Genomic Solutions'

Today, CLC bio announced its collaboration with one of the premier European service providers, GLP and GCP certified AROS Applied Biotechnology who specialize in Total Genomic Solutions, covering all steps from extraction, sample banking, and analysis, to advanced bioinformatics using CLC bio's enterprise platform.

CEO at AROS Applied Biotechnology, Brian Sørensen, states, "We're experiencing a substantial increase in the number of customers for our Next Generation Sequencing services. One of the major bottlenecks these customers have to overcome is analyzing and visualizing the extremely large datasets coming out of these projects. By our own experience we know CLC bio has excellent and user-friendly software suitable for this exact purpose, and thus we're happy and confident to recommend CLC bio to our customers!"

The two companies are already partners, along with other organizations, in a US Dollars 5 Million project on large scale sequence analysis of formalin fixed, paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue samples, announced in September 2010.

CEO of CLC bio, Thomas Knudsen, adds, "Having a very positive relationship with AROS Applied Biotechnology through our commitments in the FFPE project, it was a natural step for us to partner formally, enabling AROS to provide CLC bio software licenses to their high-throughput sequencing customers."

As from today, AROS Applied Biotechnology will provide all customers the option to receive their data in CLC bio's format, including a time-limited license for CLC Genomics Workbench for assembly and downstream sequence analyses.
