SUMEC to distribute Aurora's breast MRI technology in China

Aurora Imaging Technology, Inc. is pleased to announce an exclusive China distribution agreement with the SUMEC Group Corporation (SUMEC). SUMEC is a member of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH). Its core business includes R&D, manufacturing and export of machinery and electric products including power tools, power machinery, domestic trading, international tendering and the import of technological equipment and production materials. This agreement gives both companies a platform to greatly expand China's rapidly rising diagnostic and screening markets for breast MRI.

“We are excited to bring Aurora's innovative, dedicated breast MRI technology to the physicians and women of China who will directly benefit from this life-saving technology. This partnership with Aurora, positions SUMEC for expansion into the growing diagnostic imaging market.”

"This agreement provides us with access to the vital China market, where the need for advanced breast imaging technologies is now critical. The incidence of breast cancer in parts of Asia is increasing rapidly and is catching up with Western rates. In addition, Asian women have a high propensity for dense breast tissue, which renders it very difficult to image using traditional breast imaging modalities. The Aurora® Dedicated Breast MRI System offers an advantage over traditional breast imaging techniques, such as mammography for imaging dense breast tissue, making the need for access to this technology vital for Asian women," said Ms. Olivia Ho Cheng, president and CEO of Aurora Imaging Technology, Inc.

Cheng continued, "Together with SUMEC, we can offer our advanced breast imaging technology throughout China. We hope in doing so we can improve survival outcomes for millions of women."

Mr. Benli Yu, president of SUMEC, added, "We are excited to bring Aurora's innovative, dedicated breast MRI technology to the physicians and women of China who will directly benefit from this life-saving technology. This partnership with Aurora, positions SUMEC for expansion into the growing diagnostic imaging market."
