Information technology can improve TB screening, treatment programs

In a Center for Health Market Innovations (CHMI) blog post, Arjun Vasan of the Results for Development Institute uses preliminary research and analysis data collected by CHMI and the University of Toronto to examine "innovative ways to improve privately delivered TB care." He writes, "Among the TB programs CHMI profiles, information technology is used by one-third as a core part of their model," and he describes how "information technology is being meaningfully used to combat TB" by outlining several programs and initiatives. Vasan notes that information technology "is one key way to increase geographic access to screening, speed up diagnosis, and encourage patients to adhere to their medicine regimens" (4/1).
