Endocrine Society launches Endocrine Press

Endocrine Press to distribute e-books through online outlets Amazon, ebrary

The Endocrine Society is launching Endocrine Press, a new publishing imprint that will issue print and electronic books as well as journals for a broad audience of health care professionals and patients.

Endocrine Press will publish peer-reviewed research and clinical resources on hormone conditions and health.

"Endocrine Press will be the new home of all the peer-reviewed content published by The Endocrine Society," said Maxine Aldred, Director, Books Development, Endocrine Press. "We will be exploring topics that we have not pursued in the past and delivering content in formats the Society has never attempted before."

Leading scholarly journals such as The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM), Endocrinology and Endocrine Reviews are now part of Endocrine Press. In addition, the imprint will allow The Endocrine Society to broaden its book program by publishing a growing number of peer-reviewed books and other publications in a variety of formats, both print and digital.

The content will be available in digital formats for e-readers, tablets and smart phones for readers' convenience. Endocrine Press has partnered with distributors Amazon and ebrary - an international supplier of e-books to academic, professional, corporate and public libraries - to make its digital publications accessible to a wide audience. By fall 2013, all Endocrine Press titles, including the new edition of Diagnostic Dilemmas, will be available as e-books.

Endocrine Press also has established a relationship with the Library of Congress. The Library of Congress will catalogue all Endocrine Press titles beginning in 2013.
