The Center for Innovation of Arlington (CFI) and Group Lamerica has established an agreement for the purpose of extending CFI business development efforts into the Latin American region. In announcing the new agreement, Wes Jurey, Chairman, Board of Managers commented "We have been looking for a strong partner to work with CFI to identify potential opportunities in Latin America for our Affiliate Partner, TechComm and other programs with industry, academia and government. Group Lamerica's experience, knowledge of Latin America and extensive relationships in all sectors makes it perfect for strengthening our international business development efforts."
Under the new agreement, Group Lamerica will identify and qualify opportunities for participating in various CFI programs (Affiliate Partner, Venture Partner and Industry-specific consortiums). According to Group Lamerica's President and Managing Director, Javier Mazon, "We believe CFI's role as a catalyst for technology-led economic development can offer a number of exciting opportunities for public and private organizations throughout Latin America."
The agreement is effective immediately. Group Lamerica's efforts will be driven from its Dallas, Texas office as well as from its frequent time in-country in Latin America. Key sectors targeted include defense, security, agriculture, energy and health.
