Kareo and Falcon HER help nephrology practices leverage cloud-based technology

Kareo Inc., the leading cloud-based medical office software and services provider for small medical practices, today announced the launch of a new cooperative relationship with Falcon EHR, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA). Together, the companies provide an integrated solution of software and services designed to help nephrologists successfully manage the clinical and business aspects of their practice.

Physicians use Kareo Practice Management software to complete tasks such as creating patient records, scheduling appointments and updating patient information. These data are then dynamically updated in Falcon EHR, eliminating double entry or manual entry. In a similar fashion, data entered in the Falcon EHR Superbill are automatically uploaded to the Kareo PM for speedy and accurate billing. This seamless integration can now be purchased by physicians, and it reduces risk, lowers costs and allows more time for physician/patient engagement.

"Nephrologists face clinical and practice management challenges that are highly unique relative to many other medical specialties," said Rob Pickell, Chief Marketing Officer, Kareo. "With our new Falcon EHR – Kareo Practice Management integration, our goal is to help nephrology practices leverage cloud-based technology to enable more effective care delivery and business management."

With a decade of leadership in practice management workflow and medical billing, Kareo's Practice Management software and team of billing professionals help nephrology practices manage the patient flow and revenue streams of the business. Falcon EHR gives specialized charting and decision support designed specifically for the clinical situations encountered when treating kidney disease. Falcon EHR uniquely ties the medical practice to the dialysis environment through specialized connectivity to DaVita® dialysis centers.

"For nephrology practices to thrive in their complex business environments, they need technology tools that work together," says Derek Schoonover, Vice President of Falcon EHR. "This integration with Kareo is a great opportunity to continually improve the way our centers manage the business aspects of their practice. We are proud to extend our services in the nephrology market with Kareo."

Falcon EHR is the latest specialty electronic health record addition to Kareo Marketplace. Marketplace brings private practices a specialized selection of cloud-based applications and value-added services that can help optimize operations, deliver improved financial performance, accelerate adoption of electronic health records, and drive outstanding patient engagement. All of the solutions offered in Marketplace can be seamlessly integrated with and build upon Kareo's medical office software platform.
