Congressman Chaka Fattah to be featured speaker at Neuroscience Policy Symposia Series

Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), will be the featured speaker at a neurotechnology seminar this Monday, June 30, as part of the Potomac Institute's 2014 Neuroscience Policy Symposia Series. Fattah, who is architect of the Fattah Neuroscience Initiative (FNI), will deliver opening remarks on his continued work to make neuroscience a national priority and raise the levels of federal funding devoted to brain research. The seminar "Neurotechnology: Enhancing the Human Brain and Reshaping Society," will foster dialogue between policymakers, industry members, and academics; it is part of the Institute's 2014 Neuroscience Symposia Series, which allows stakeholders across various private and public sectors to discuss the future projections of neuroscience technology.

Through FNI and his role as Ranking Member on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science, Fattah has championed the rise of neurotechnology as a means of advancing treatments and rehabilitation for patients suffering from brain diseases and disorders. Last October, he was the keynote speaker at BrainTech Israel, the country's first ever neurotechnology conference.
