New Jersey Health Foundation's expertise in funding research and commercializing intellectual property will help advance Kessler Foundation's innovative rehabilitation research.
The signing of a formal affiliation agreement that allows Kessler Foundation and New Jersey Health Foundation (NJHF) to work together to advance biomedical research, education and patient care programs has been announced by Rodger DeRose, president and chief executive officer of Kessler Foundation and James M. Golubieski, president of New Jersey Health Foundation.
"The experience of New Jersey Health Foundation in the areas of funding research, commercializing intellectual property and forming, funding and managing start-up companies, coupled with the exciting, innovative research currently being developed at Kessler Foundation, provides a wide range of partnership opportunities," noted Mr. Golubieski. "We are very excited about working together to change the lives of people with disabilities."
Both organizations are confident that the strength of the partnership will prove transformational for all involved, especially for those facing disabilities every day. "We foresee numerous opportunities to develop solutions that will foster independence and better quality of life for people with disabilities." said Mr. DeRose. "This affiliation will enable us to make Kessler Foundation's scientific advances more widely available to people with physical and cognitive disabilities caused by brain injury, cancer, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and stroke."
