Leading medical organisations are due to speak at the first ever Medical Support Operations Conference, a three-day event providing a unique opportunity to network with industry leaders, NGOs and military end users’ such as Humanity First and the European External Action Service. They will be in attendance to discuss the need to ensure effective collaboration and execution of care as medics are set to work in increasingly remote and diverse environments.
The Ebola crisis is Sierra Leone being one of the most recent struggles will be a key topic being addressed. Emergency response units are currently developing effectively train and prepare personnel for unfamiliar environments.
The summit is the first of its kind to specifically focus on the macro elements of expeditionary medical support and disaster relief operations. Force Health Protection will be among the crowd reflecting on the current operations taking place in West Africa, Afghanistan and Syria. They will be specifically addressing the vital need to enhance the pivotal, yet often neglected factors of medical support operations which ultimately save lives.
