Vomaris signs exclusive global commercial partnership with Metrex for Procellera Antimicrobial Wound Dressings

Vomaris Innovations, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an exclusive global commercial partnership for its microcurrent generating wound care products, Procellera® Antimicrobial Wound Dressings, for the Long Term Care market with Metrex, a professional consumables brand within Kavo Kerr Group, which is a member of the Danaher Corporation.

Metrex is the only company offering a system of solutions designed to address cross-contamination across the entire healthcare facility. Their exclusive Infection Prevention's Circle of Care™ represents the seven most critical areas in the healthcare environment in preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). With the addition of Procellera Technology to their product portfolio they are now able to provide an important infection prevention solution for the body.

"The growing patient population, escalating threat of resistant microbes and demand to minimize risk of HAIs makes the Long Term Care segment very important to us. As a result of our partnership with Metrex, we will be able to reduce infection risk and support wound healing for more patients than ever before. Importantly, with Procellera Technology we are able to do this with a cost effective non-pharmacologic solution," commented Michael Nagel, President and CEO of Vomaris Innovations, Inc.

Advanced Microcurrent TechnologyTM is the only platform in the world that powers a new generation dressing solution for wound and incisional care. It creates an optimal environment for wound healing with demonstrated efficacy against a broad-spectrum of microbes including drug-resistant1 and biofilm-forming pathogens2, and the ability to enhance cellular migration3.

Nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities, collectively referred to as long-term care facilities or LTCFs present a significant wound management challenge, making prevention of infectious complications a major priority. According to the CDC, over 3 million Americans receive care in U.S. nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities annually and nearly one million persons reside in assisted living facilities. One to three million serious infections occur every year in these facilities, making them a major cause of hospitalization and death, and as many as 380,000 people die of infections in LTCFs every year.

"We are very excited about this partnership," said Metrex General Manager, Steve Fanning. "As a leader in Infection Prevention, we believe Procellera will allow us to broaden our portfolio of products to help prevent HAIs throughout Infection Prevention's Circle of Care."

Under the terms of this distribution agreement, Metrex will have exclusive global distribution rights to Procellera Technology in the Long Term Care Market. Vomaris will have continued responsibility for manufacturing and ongoing research and development.
