My mother is dying from Cirrhosis of the Liver from taking Metformin/Glucophage for Diabetes.  She is suffering and has had a Centesis (fluid withdrawn) done every 8 to 10 days. Her Liver has deteriated and cannot do its job. Each time she has the Centesis done, she has to have 4 units of protein antibiotic and at least 2 pints of blood.....this is an all day procedure. When she had her first one...6 months ago, they removed 6.5 liters of fluid.  It goes down steadily and now they only get about 3 liters.  She is 84 years young and a tea totaler!  This absolutely came from Metformin and I will be a part of the lawsuit!
