    Looking at the picture it seems like it would open and then eject the molecules by twisting, or one section shortens and the structure twists creating a vacuum to suck fluid in and then with a similar motion twist to "wring" the molecules out into the inside of the cell wall. That's my guess, at least. It makes me wonder if a molecule could literally be designed to disrupt the motion and thus shunt the ability for TB to replicate by creating a B vitamin deficency in the virus itself.
