Dr. Shital Sarah Ahaley is a medical writer. She completed her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Microbiology at the University of Pune. She then completed her Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru where she studied muscle development and muscle diseases. After her Ph.D., she worked at the Indian Institute of Science, Education, and Research, Pune as a post-doctoral fellow. She then acquired and executed an independent grant from the DBT-Wellcome Trust India Alliance as an Early Career Fellow. Her work focused on RNA binding proteins and Hedgehog signaling.
She has excellent communication skills and knowledge of scientific publishing with experience in writing scientific documents and grants. She has presented her work in several national and international conferences. With more than 12 years of experience in academia, she has developed strong scientific expertise and teaching skills.
She has always been a curious individual. This led her to pursue a Ph.D. in developmental biology. Apart from the pursuit of knowledge, she takes pleasure in communicating it to a wide range of audiences. She is also a prolific writer. This led her to the path of a medical writer. In this role, she enjoys employing her passion for writing along with her scientific expertise to communicate science.
Besides medical writing, she relishes writing poems, short stories, and plays.
