Enhanced version of iTriage application provides more information for iPhone users

Healthagen™, a developer of healthcare information software, today introduced a new, enhanced version of iTriage® for the iPhone. This update provides iPhone users with the same expanded data currently available in the iTriage product for .mobi browsers on smart phones at www.iTriageHealth.com, and allows medical facilities and providers to provide additional information about their services, including links to their web sites, informational text and video, to iTriage users through premier listings.

This update also includes iPhone 3.0 OS updates, zip code and GPS search capabilities, enhanced navigation and user interface, distances to facilities, integrated mapping within the application, landscape view, the addition of more diseases and symptoms, “Tell a friend” feature to share iTriage information with your contacts, and further integration with HealthGrades® quality information for purchasing reports, reviewing physicians, and accessing provider profiles within the application.

“We are committed to continually improving iTriage for our customers, and we have thousands of iPhone users in every state of the country, who use this application when they need to find healthcare,” said Wayne Guerra, M.D., M.B.A., Chief Medical Officer, Healthagen. “These enhancements are both a part of our development plan, and in response to consumer feedback.”

The iPhone, and .mobi smart phone versions of iTriage include Healthagen’s proprietary healthcare-focused search engine, expansive library of medical symptoms, diseases, and procedures to immediately see initial diagnostic options and get recommendations on the appropriate level of service required. Users can utilize GPS or enter a zip code to find physicians, emergency departments, urgent care clinics, retail clinics, and pharmacies across the United States.

“Hospitals, urgent care centers, and even medical specialists are seeing an increase in patient referrals from the web, and different types of healthcare technologies, like iTriage. Consumers are evaluating medical information for themselves, and making an informed decision on where they want to pursue medical treatment,” said Peter Hudson, M.D., CEO, Healthagen. “iTriage is committed to providing a frame work for both consumers and providers to benefit from this trend, particularly in the acute care setting, which is a challenging environment perfectly suited to mobile phone technologies.”
